Stop treating every execution problem like a strategy problem.
Planning tools set direction, name priorities, and define targets. The HMM™ asks the next question: can the organization carry that plan week after week?
The assessment examines how decisions get made, how capability is held, and how work continues when people, pressure, or priorities change. Low readings point to operating conditions that another planning cycle will leave untouched.
Three dimensions, scored the same way every time.
Ten core attributes sit across the three dimensions, and 65 sub-attributes are scored beneath them. Each attribute is placed on one of five maturity levels.
Culture
How people behave, decide, and hold each other to account when no one is watching.
Capability
Whether the skills, roles, and systems required by the strategy actually exist in the organization.
Continuity
Whether the way of working survives growth, turnover, transition, and operating pressure.

The Holistic Maturity Model™ is owned by maturityOS. Novel Work Co. is a licensed practitioner and runs the assessment as part of diagnostic work.
Five steps, each with a distinct output.
The survey, the calibration conversation, the report, the recommendations, and the reassessment are separate things. Knowing which is which keeps expectations accurate.
- 01
Assess
Individual survey
Each participant scores the sub-attributes on their own, without discussion. Independent responses are what make disagreement visible later.
Individual responses - 02
Calibrate
Team calibration
The group reviews where scores diverge and agrees on a shared reading. The conversation about the gap is usually as useful as the score itself.
Agreed scores - 03
Diagnose
Report
Scores are compiled into a maturity profile by dimension and attribute, showing where the organization is strong and where it is carrying risk.
Maturity report - 04
Prioritize and roadmap
Recommendations and working session
A senior practitioner works with the leadership team to decide which gaps matter for the current strategy, and sequences the work.
Prioritized roadmap - 05
Reassess
Repeat measurement
The assessment is run again after a period of work so change is measured against the same instrument rather than impressions.

What the assessment has surfaced elsewhere.
We knew there were things that needed to change but it seemed that everything we did was not really solving the problem. The Holistic Maturity Model™ helped us see what we couldn't.
Before you commit.
What is organizational maturity?
Maturity describes how consistently an organization does what it intends to do. A mature organization makes the same quality of decision under pressure as it does on a good week, and does not depend on a handful of individuals to hold it together.
Who should participate?
The leadership team accountable for the strategy, plus the people who see how the work actually runs day to day. Respondent limits depend on the option selected.
How long does it take?
The individual survey is completed independently. Calibration and the working session are scheduled with the leadership team. Timing is confirmed when the engagement is scoped.
What happens after the assessment?
You get a maturity profile, a prioritized set of gaps, and a roadmap. Novel Work Co. can stop there, or stay through implementation as a separate engagement.
Is the HMM™ a replacement for our strategy framework?
No. It does not set strategy or replace whatever planning system you already use. It measures whether the organization has the maturity to carry the plan you have.
How is team disagreement handled?
Disagreement is a finding, not a problem to smooth over. Independent scoring surfaces where leaders see the organization differently, and calibration works through those gaps before a shared score is set.
Can the assessment be repeated?
Yes. Reassessment on the same instrument is how progress is measured, which is why it is the final step of the process rather than an add-on.
Know what to work on before asking the team to execute it.
A senior practitioner will walk you through the assessment and what it would show in your organization.
